Urgent Care Vet Clinic in North Alabama

We know how important it is for owners to feel comfortable during an emergency with their pets. Located right on the Priceville/Decatur line, we are easily accessible to all of North Alabama. Dr. Lauren Smith and her staff strive to provide clear communication regarding our recommendations while understanding all options available within their financial means.

Commonly asked questions

Upon arrival and check in, your pet will be triaged by one of our nurses to make sure they are stable. Once placed in a room a nurse will get a full history and vital signs. After a doctor examines your pet, recommendations for any diagnostics and medications will be made. Upon discharge, communication is still open – we encourage you to call with any additional questions or concerns.

Triage is a “preliminary assessment of patients in order to determine the urgency of their need for treatment”. We categorize patients into red (trauma, heat stroke, seizures, allergic reaction), yellow (fractures, eye trauma, end of life care, vomiting), or green (chronic illness, limping, nail problems, skin conditions). “Red” patients will always be seen first and could change wait times. However, we strive to make every patients visit as efficient as possible.

The main difference between an urgent care facility and an emergency facility is hospitalization and continued care. We will stabilize all cases – However, if your pet needs continued care, you will be referred to a 24/7 emergency facility to provide hospitalization.

One of our passions is being prepared to treat any species of animals. This includes dogs, cats, small mammals (ferrets, guinea pigs, chinchillas, etc), small ruminants (goats, sheep), and birds (at a limited capacity). If you have any questions regarding your pet – please give us a call.

Payment is due at the time of service. We work with Scratch Pay and Care Credit to provide alternative payment options.

No – your general practitioner family veterinarian is your source for vaccines, preventative care, and follow up visits.
